Enabling modules

To enable modules, navigate to http://yoursite.com/?q=admin/modules (or, administer -> modules)

Enable the following modules:
Note: an explanation (and a download link) accompanies all modules not included in the Drupal core install. All modules described in this section are included in the distribution available on this site.

  • assignment -- a module created from the "story" node type as described here. I created this module so that the content type would have a more intuitive name.
  • blog
  • book
  • comment
  • contact
  • front_page -- this module allows the site admin to create a different front page for anonymous and authenticated users. While this tutorial does not cover configuration for this module, I'm including it in the distribution because it is very useful on sites that limit access for anonymous users.
  • help
  • htmlarea -- a WYSIWYG text editor
  • image -- allows users to upload images
  • menu
  • node
  • page
  • path
  • search
  • statistics
  • taxonomy
  • taxonomy_dhtml -- a great module that creates navigation menus based on taxonomy structure.
  • tracker
  • upload
  • userplus -- a custom module created by FunnyMonkey. The userplus module allows site admins to add groups of users. Additionally, as these users are created, the new users can be assigned into specific roles.
